Howard is an excellent real estate manager and a very successful entrepreneur who understands the foundation of real estate. He began his career in 1984 after a successful career in advertising and marketing. After becoming registered as a Salesperson, he continued courses and obtained his Broker’s designation in 2006. During his sales career he achieved numerous sales awards.
In 2004, he founded Right At Home Realty with Arthur Bartram, formerly Vice President/Division Manager for Royal LePage Real Estate Services/Johnston & Daniel Division and Ronald Peddicord, formerly Senior Vice President Development, Oxford Properties Group. The company was founded on the premise that salespeople who embraced technology would be attracted to the unique and profitable business model of the brokerage.
He is a member of the Board of Directors at Right At Home Realty. Howard has been a member of the Arbitration, as well as, Public Relations Committees of the Toronto Real Estate Board. He is currently a member of the Chairman’s Advisory Council for Habitat For Humanity, Toronto. Howard currently manages the Don Mills office and is a non-selling manager. Howard is a member of the Real Estate Council of Ontario (RECO), Board of Directors, Region 1 for 2013/2016.
VP, Accounting and Administration
Andrew joins Right at Home Realty with over 20 years experience as a Chartered Accountant. He has a passion for real estate, having come from an entrepreneurial family involved in the construction supply and real estate industries. Andrew made his first investment in commercial real estate at age 16.
Andrew’s previous roles include VP Copyright and Royalties Administration at ole Media Management, AVP Merchandising and Marketing Finance at Sears Canada, and Finance Manager for Cold Drink Sales at Coca-Cola Enterprises. His expertise in finance includes supporting operations leadership in decision making. Andrew has worked closely with leaders in the selling, collections, advertising, marketing, real estate, construction, project management, supply chain, and procurement functions.
Andrew’s teamwork approach, professionalism, work ethic, and commitment to success will promote the continued growth and prosperity of Right at Home Realty and its agents.
As Vice-President Operations, Michael brings to Right At Home Realty over 25 years’ experience in finance, operations, facilities, administration, human resource management and compliance. His expertise in these areas adds much welcomed bench strength with his management of risk management/compliance, agent services, project management, training & education and call centre operations. Michael previously held the positions of Chief Operating Officer at Jones Lang LaSalle Realty Inc., Senior Vice-President, Administrative Services at Merrill Lynch Canada, Vice-President, Administration & Finance at CitiBank Canada and General Manager, Real Estate Services at the Ontario Realty Corporation.
Director of Education
Surina had been involved in the real estate industry since 2000, and comes with over 30 years of client service experience. Surina began her real estate career as an unregistered assistant to a Broker-of-Record at Re/Max. She then obtained her RECO registrant salesperson status, joined a real estate team, acquired her real estate Broker status in 2006, and after 5 years with the team, moved forward on her own. Surina has arrived at Right At Home Realty after 10 years with Royal LePage. Surina became a certified Real Estate Instructor for the Ontario Real Estate Association (OREA) in 2008 and facilitates the pre-registration courses for the OREA Salesperson Registration Education Program with endless passion and undeniable commitment to her students all across the GTA. Surina has served on the Board of Directors as Chair of the Education Committee for the QREB; member of the QREB Forms and Social Committee; member of the RLP Shelter Foundation; and various other volunteer positions for schools and charities. Surina is committed to maintaining the integrity of our real estate industry one course at a time with a goal to provide sales professionals with the tools, skills, knowledge and experience they need to deliver the highest level of real estate professional standards. She believes in ensuring long term success for new salespeople, through comprehensive practical training, experience and support.
Gareth R. Jones, FRI

Gareth brings over 28 years of real estate experience to Right At Home Realty. He has earned a reputation for being a supportive and knowledgeable real estate Brokerage Management professional with a proven track record of enviable success. Gareth also obtained mortgage licensing through the Financial Securities Commission of Ontario (FSCO) along with the Accredited Mortgage Professional designation (AMP Commercial & Residential) through the Canadian Association of Accredited Mortgage Professionals (CAAMP).
Gareth holds his FRI designation - Fellow of the Real Estate Institute of Canada (REIC) along with his CRES Designation and is also a CRB -Certified Real Estate Brokerage Manager through the National Association of Realtors (NAR).
Peter Holgate, FRI

Peter brings over 23 years of real estate experience, particularly in training & development, sales, land development and brokerage management. Peter has his ABR (Accredited Buyer Representation) designation and his SRES (Senior Real Estate Specialist) certification, as well as, being a registered mortgage broker and a certified Brian Buffini Mentor. Peter has held management positions with RE/MAX, Sutton Group and Royal LePage. Peter was formerly on the Board of Directors for the Georgian Triangle Association of Realtors for 2011/2012 and was the Chair of the Professional Development Committee.
Jim Engineer, FRI
Mississauga Branch Manager
Jim brings over 32 years of experience in the Real Estate industry, having obtained his Salesperson's License in 1980 and Broker's License in 1987. He started his career with Royal Trust Real Estate, followed by A.E. Lepage, Family Trust and Sutton Group, before joining us at Right At Home Realty. He has been a consistent Platinum Award Producer and has had 100% successful closings over this extended period. His experience also includes being the Manager, Accounting and Administration of a Branch Office of a billion dollar pharmaceutical company and a Branch Office of a Corporate Sutton Group - Central Realty Office. Jim's friendly personality, professional and personalized work ethic, integrity, track record, combined with his experience in Management and Sales are tremendous assets that he brings to us at Right At Home Realty.
Gian Piero Furfaro, FRI

Gian-Piero has acquired a unique and extensive level of experience in the real estate field since 1995. Upon being licensed, he immediately recognised the critical impact that Right At Home Realty Inc. would have on the real estate industry and joined the brokerage in 2006. He developed a focus on residential projects for investment purposes before achieving the prestigious Top Ten Club Award in 2010. Early in Gian-Piero’s career, some key accomplishments were establishing a branch level marketing support system and data mining for a national shopping centre geographical information system. Prior to joining Right At Home Realty, Gian-Piero was the Retail Leasing Co-ordinator for Canada’s top national retail consultation firm; Oberfeld Snowcap, Branch Level Marketing Manager for Royal LePage/Signature Realty and early development in the real estate industry working at Royal LePage and Chestnut Park. Gian-Piero has always focused on marketing, communication and customer support initiatives.
Durham & Cobourg
Prior to becoming a Realtor, Tony Slavin worked in the Banking industry as a Manager; with companies such as Canada Trust, Canada Permanent Trust, Avco and Associates Finance. In 1988 Tony obtained his Realtors license and in 1996 owned and operated a Sutton Group Franchise for 5 years before converting it to a Century 21 Franchise. From 2002 to 2011 Tony worked as a Broker and Broker/Manager with Remax before joining Right At Home Realty to became the Durham Office Manager. Having lived in Durham for all of his life, Tony has many contacts and connections to the Durham Region. Having raised 5 children in the area Tony is firmly established in the Durham Marketplace. Tony is a Commercial Council Member, a licensed Mortgage Broker and an Accredited Green Realtor; encompassing a well rounded skillset for managing a busy and highly productive Real Estate Office! Throughout Tony’s career he has served on many Real Estate Committees and continues to upgrade his education and knowledge of Real Estate. Tony enjoys dealing with people and is very involved in community events.
Nancy comes to Right At Home Realty from companies such as The Hudson’s Bay Company, Wrigley Canada, Telus, The Toronto Stock Exchange and Ontario Place. She brings many years of experience overseeing the marketing plans for these high profile companies. Nancy has worked on advertising initiatives, database management, promotional literature, product launches and special events. She has worked on both the client and agency side and is very comfortable working in a dynamic fast-paced environment.
Nancy will oversee the day to day execution of all of our marketing plan action items and will roll out new products and services for our Sales Representatives, on behalf of the Brokerage. She will oversee changes to our corporate website and intranet and will be the go to person for our corporate visual identity. She will execute all marketing related team building activities and events including The Sales Rally, Social Media Training and our Awards Recognition Program.
Nancy will help to build strong relationships with our internal stakeholders as well as our strategic partnerships.
Manager of Accounting
Cherrie, as a Manager of Accounting & Administration, serves the day-to-day management duties for our Deal Processing Department and financial related activities. With her CGA designation and six years solid real estate administration experiences, she provides comprehensive support and innovative concepts to Administration Team. Her goal is to coordinate and manage the administration team members to ensure professional and customer-oriented services to all agents and clients. Prior to becoming a member of Right At Home Realty, Cherrie worked for Re/Max Condos Plus. This experience provided her the advanced knowledge about Brokerage Management, and also the comprehensive understanding for Real Estate industry, especially in Pre-Construction field. Cherrie earned a bachelor’s degree in Business and Financial Management from the University of Western Ontario. Currently, she is pursuing her CGA designation at the final phase.
